Baluran National Park or often called as little Africa in java, is one of tourism destinations that you must visit in eastern java. This National park is located at Dukuh Batangan, Wonorejo Village, District Banyuputih, Situbondo, it is directly adjacent to Madura Strait and Bali Strait and it has an area not less than 25 thousand hectares.

Savanna vegetation dominates this region, about 40 percent total area of the entire national park. Baluran Natioal Park has a very wide meadow called Savannah Bekol, not only that, there is also Bama Beach for underwater tours, steep cliff area called Curah Tangis , mangrove forest, the tropical rain forest and Baluran mountain that dominates the landscape in this region.

Wild animals there are also very diverse, including commonly encountered animals such are wild bull, Timor deer, the forest cat, leopard, peacock, hornbill, and many other species.

Baluran National Park is also very attractive spot for photography lovers, a suitable time to visit this national park is in dry season , starting from June to October.

In these months , availability waters in the forest are limited, and it will be dry quickly , then makes all grasses dry and becoming yellow.

This situation led the animals inside the forest will come out to the savanna and searching for water pools were provided by the national park management .

  1. Come in at 4 o'clock in the morning , so you can enjoy the exotic sunrise and herds of wild animals gathering and foraging in this region.
  2. Prepare enough for food and drinks if you want to stay overnight inside the park.
  3. Prepare flashlights and a battery charger with good condition because the availability of electricity in the inn has a limited time ..
  4. Do not forget to prepare a hat, sunblock and enough drinking water when traveling in this area, considering weather during the day at this place is quite hot.
  5. Keep your supplies goods against loss, especially against a herd of monkeys around Bama beach.
