Dieng Plateau : Exploring the exotic and mystical temple on central java

Dieng Plateau is a plateau region in Central Java, its entered into the district of Banjarnegara and Wonosobo . Dieng Plateau is located at Village Kulon Dieng region, Kejajar. This region is one of the most remote regions in Central Java. It lies to the west of Mount Sindoro complex and Sumbing. This area is located about 26 km in the north of the capital Wonosobo district, with an altitude reaches 2093 m above sea level. Temperatures range from 15-20 ° C in the daytime and 10 ° C at night.

In the dry season (July and August), temperatures can reach 0 ° C in the morning and bring frost, by the locals called bun upas ("dew poison") because it causes damage to agricultural crops. Dieng temple area is administratively included in Banjarnegara district. The remains of the 7th century masterpiece of the Sanjaya Dynasty are still kept in Dieng.

Tangled hair is formed not by intent or genetic factors, tangled hair usually appears after the child has high fever and is accompanied by dream during sleep. According to them, symptoms fever can not be treated until eventually the child will heal by itself and after that the hair becomes matted.

Usually the child's hair will be tangled in ruwat ceremony, if there have been requests from the child. Local people believe that ruwat ceremony is the demand of the Gods. Demand whatever was asked of the child's hair in the trash when he asked ruwat, must be met.

If not, then the child would be insane. Interestingly, after the ruwat, the child's hair will grow back to normal as usual. Ruwatan hair cutting is a process with a long procession and involve indigenous people and traditional leaders.
